This is a hands-on role with a focus on Map components, Map data, Map updates and provisioning, Map matching and fusion techniques, and associated Mapping software. We are looking for a self-starter with good engineering judgement and the curiosity/motivation to learn as the technology progresses.
You will join a team designated to develop and maintain HD mapping products end-to-end. If you have background in software design, mapping and embedded real-time software and want to create life-changing projects we would be glad to talk about possible opportunities.

your tasks
- develop/model functional requirements by working closely with Feature Owners
- interact closely with a variety of engineering domains, including SD/ADAS Navigation maps, Vehicle Connectivity, and Backend services, in order to develop the requirements necessary to develop and integrate Mapping technology and components into architectures, vehicle platforms (prototype and production), and ECUs
- manage Map suppliers and act as a technical interface to these suppliers.

must have:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Engineering experience in a related field - working level knowledge of High Definition (HD) lane level maps required for Highly
Automated Driving, inclusive of:- mapping techniques
- accuracy and types of map attribute data and map layering techniques
- industry utilized data formats and communication protocols such as NDS, ADASIS,
- ProtoBuf, and SensorIS
- criticality and management of map freshness and dynamic map layers
- industry utilized data update methodologies inclusive of crowd source techniques and big data analytics
- map data/update validation tools/techniques/methodologies
- map data scalability to manage low to high content vehicles
- qualitative measures to understand the reliability of map data
- competitive industry features based upon E-horizon data sets
- working level knowledge of SD/ADAS maps required for Navigation and Infotainment
- working level knowledge of High Precision Localization, SLAM based map matching
- algorithms, and visualization tools
- basic knowledge about the automotive development process
- basic understanding of Ethernet and CAN networking, SOME/IP, REST API, MQTT topics
- basic knowledge of programming for engineers such as Python or MATLAB
- demonstrated ability to author and release engineering level technical documents
- demonstrated ability to lead joint testing activities with the component suppliers
- good knowledge of English language

- knowledge of Ground truth reference level sensors, Geospatial location and triangulation
- theory, and Dead Reckoning design theory
- knowledge of environmental sensing technologies required for AD/ADAS systems
- knowledge of positioning techniques (e.g. dGPS and correction services)
- vehicle to Cloud Connectivity methodology and business models
- sensor data analytics and parameters required to produce crowd sourced map updates
- understanding of sensor fusion techniques
- familiarity with SOME/IP, REST API, MQTT topics and corresponding interfaces
- basic knowledge of CAN/Vector tools (e.g. Canalyzer) for data collection and analysis
- experience with automotive EDR (event data recorder) systems
- general working knowledge and previous exposure to ISO26262, SOTIF, and cybersecurity
- experience in the development of Driving Assistance and Automated Driving systems, including in-vehicle activities and exposure to test drives / field Operation testing activities
