It’s 1994, Poland has just started its efforts to be admitted into the European Union, Edyta Górniak celebrates success in the Eurovision contest, and Ari Hecht, a young emigrant from the US, sets up his TempService business in Warsaw – the first Polish temporary employment and personal consulting company. It wasn’t easy at first – such services weren’t familiar to Polish entrepreneurs, and foreign investors weren’t that keen to invest in a country with only a 5-year history of building its own market economy. However, today, after over 20 years of operations, Randstad is the leading HR company in Poland.
