As a transformation leader, you stay abreast of developments within the industry and frequently contribute to directional strategy by considering the application of technology and data architecture to the needs of the Risk organization around Trade, Valuation and Risk Data. The right candidate has tremendous experience in establishing the process of managing the availability, usability, integrity and security of the data in enterprise systems, based on internal data standards and policies that also control data usage. The effective Data Governance Senior Leader ensures that data is consistent and trustworthy and doesn't get misused especially given the increased criticality of organizations facing new data privacy regulations and with growing reliance on data analytics to help optimize operations and drive business decision-making. The successful candidate has superb communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince others. In addition to serving in an advisory capacity, you are not afraid to roll-up your sleeves and be a hands on person.

your tasks
- Establish Data Governance goals and drive execution towards them, e.g. break down data silos by harmonizing data across systems, ensure proper data usage to prevent data errors and block potential misuse, improve data quality and thus stronger regulatory compliance.
- Help design data governance program that consists of governance team, a steering committee that acts as the governing body, and a group of data stewards that will be embedded with programs, projects, and Agile teams to provide guidance and requirements around data sources, data consumers and data lineage.
- Create the standards in alignment with existing data policies for governing data, as well as implementation and enforcement procedures that are primarily carried out by the data stewards.
- Create a data governance knowledge repository to track data lineage and follow Data Governance best practices, enabling intelligent and accurate Global Risk Organization interactions with business functions in each region.
- Align Data Governance solutions with Data Design authority strategic goals and objectives.
what we expect
- 10 + years working in the financial or banking industry.

- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve
- Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations,
- Understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on multiple topics concurrently (e.g. risk frameworks, processes that are being remediated/transformed) to be able to understand program objectives and to oversee / contribute effectively to their execution
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills - able to identify and influence key decision makers across various levels and functions within the organization; defuse conflict and work toward agreement
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage at the senior management levels
- Track record of managing internal relationships and demonstrated experience in leading sustained change and change management efforts
