job description

The position is for a Business Analyst and the incumbent will participate in the full project lifecycle of a range of critical tax transformation projects. This will involve developing a clear understanding of the business requirements, writing and maintaining the business requirements, acting as a “translator” between all stakeholders, providing support in testing requirements and operationalising the target operating model (TOM). Apart from Technology changes, these projects will realise front to back changes within Operations, improvements in the control environment and improved service level agreements (SLA’s). The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring these changes and deliverables are successfully completed realising the required business benefit/s.

your tasks

  • Lead business analysis across Business and / or Product, Control, Technology & Operations functions and front to back operating processes
  • Understand the implications of changes we introduce and ensure those are clearly understood by all relevant stakeholders;
  • Document and capture the existing operating model and define the future state operating model
  • Manage and / or support change to the business across multiple cross border jurisdictions
  • Manage or support the execution of one or more business projects 
  • Understand and define key implications of the Tax business transformation changes and / or Tax regulatory changes including associated processes and control environment
  • Obtain and document requirements, working with relevant stakeholders, enablers and control function partners, identifying changes to the current operating model in order to develop the end state target operating model
  • Develop individual project artefacts as required, including Business Requirements Documentation (BRD’s), process flows, current and target state operating models, options analysis etc.
  • Partner with technology to validate test plans and scenarios in the context of any system changes and supporting UAT
  • Develop process flows and associated procedures with required controls as well as communication plans to support rollout of the change
  • Supporting the development of training and implementation material
  • Providing support during and post implementation
  • Ensure appropriate governance is met per Bank policies, and procedures and guidelines: o Prepare and present to senior management as required o Actively identify and manage resolution of key project risks and issues, or escalate accordingly. 

what we expect

  • At least 5 years of experience, minimum 4 years of experience as Business Analyst (Business Analyst certification will be an advantage)
  • Business Analysis skills including working in delivering mid to large scale implementations working with Front Office, Control Function and Infrastructure partners, including writing Business Requirement Documents, testing, governance frameworks essential
  • Experience in Private Banking / Private Client Investment Management or Consultancy industry preferred
  • Experience of either implementing regulatory or transformation projects preferred, (MIFID II, EMIR, FATCA, CRS etc.)
  • Experience of banking products an advantage (but not essential) 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships across functional lines
  • Strong communication skills, ability to explain business requirements in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders (supplier, partners, management, etc.) in various forums
  • Professional outlook with the ability to use initiative, manage deadlines, coordinate multiple tasks and work to deadlines and targets
  • Excellent use of the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Familiarity with various project management tools an advantage (JIRA, SharePoint, etc.)
