The Private Banking (CPB) Data, Reporting Analytics group is going through a multi-year effort to reengineer its entire system architecture - to support our focus on our global clients and rapid innovation.

This reengineering includes a strategic platform that will act as the single source for all CPB business applications. This platform will be deployed globally, and it must integrate with other components such as metadata, data lineage, and data quality tools.

We are seeking a strong motivated individual to be part of our Technical Governance, Quality Controls team. The candidate will have direct responsibility for the metadata - actively executing data analysis, data modeling and logical harmonization of data, and contributing to the management of metadata needed for rollout of the components.

The candidate must have experience in data management processes, metadata repositories and lineage tools. The candidate should have prior experience with data management processes, data analysis, metadata and data lineage. Prior experience with technologies for data ingestion, processing, distribution, messaging, serialization, query, retrieval and storage is a plus.

your tasks

  • Liaise with business to understand and validate data requirements from consuming applications in the private bank space (for clients, accounts and financial data)
  • Interpret data requirements into metadata needs, thoughtfully harmonizing data attributes into logical structures for ownership purposes, compiling standardized name / definitions, industry standards being recommended, and
  • Utilize query tools to confirm data quality and investigate data related questions
  • Interpret existing data quality rules, and articulate additional rules to be built based on feedback from data owners / stewards
  • Interact with developers based in multiple locations to publish metadata into tool
  • Collaborate with Application SMEs to validate data provenance generated by lineage functionality
  • Analyze downstream impact (based on consumer applications) resulting from data standardization, and oversee data clean-up to be executed by staff.
  • Manage timelines, milestones and streams related to own projects. Track, resolve and escalate issues for own projects while keeping relevant stakeholders informed
  • Create effective presentations to be used with business audiences of various levels
  • Communicate continually with stakeholders the statuses of deliverables and flag potential risks and delays to successful completion of all projects
  • Maintain project deliverables including reporting and tracking statuses using PowerPoint, Excel, Jira and Confluence

what we expect

  • Experienced practitioner of data analysis, metadata and data management processes
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards for client, account and financial data (ISO, UN, etc.)
  • Experience with technologies for metadata harvesting – from data ingestion, processing, distribution, messaging, serialization, query, retrieval and storage technologies (such as Oracle, Java, Store Procs, Kafka, Neo4J, HDFS, HBase, Gemfire, among others)
