your tasks

  • strives for operational excellence of Finance relevant EMEA-wide standardized processes. He/she is representative for the Finance function within the business center tactical committee
  • consults in special accounting issues and supports group wide implementation of IFRS rules
  • cooperates proactively with Group Accounting, Divisional Controlling, business center Finance managers, GM Finance and regional CFOs
  • defines service level agreements (SLAs) together with corporate functions, business divisions and regions
  • delegates, organizes and coordinates ERP regressions and user acceptance tests (UAP)
  • delivers optimum service quality through regular contact with key stakeholders across the EMEA group 
  • develops solutions to service quality issues if needed
  • ensures compliance of processes and procedures with the Olympus Accounting manual
  • ensures compliance with all relevant Finance standard operating procedures (SOPs) and delegation of authority (DOA)
  • ensures service and process excellence
  • handles escalation issues and complaints in collaboration with team leads
  • leads the implementation and prioritization of continuous improvement initiatives (business and IT)
  • manages staff turnover and actively proposes and implements measures to increase retention rates
  • monitors, updates and defines key performance indicators (KPIs) for the services offered
  • oversees fulfillment of SLAs and KPIs by conducting regular performance reviews and analyses
  • participates actively in decision making and strategy development to shape the future business center direction
  • sets up demand management procedures and manages interfaces with relevant senior stakeholders
  • steers and motivates Finance managers and staff in the business center
  • steers the day-to-day operations of the Finance service delivery within the business center, in accordance with performance and quality standards as defined in relevant service level agreements
  • supports EMEA internal and external auditors
  • uses hiring decision rights for managers and functional employees to promote optimal utilization of staff in close alignment with quality targets

what we expect

  • MSc in economics or business administration with major in accounting. Professional certification such as a CPA or a CMA is an advantage
  • typically 8-10 years experience in overarching accounting processes, including leadership positions
  • experience in leading staff within finance and accounting processes, or other core financial processes, within a complex, large volume environment
  • leadership experience within a business center environment
  • previous experience in establishing a Finance business center is an advantage
  • excellent command of fluent business English (oral and written skills)
  • fluent communication skills (oral and written skills) in an additional country specific language (e.g., German, Spanish, French, Italian, Swedish etc.) is an advantage
  • experience in leading process transitions
  • good understanding of finance processes and improvement levers
  • extensive knowledge of MS Excel
  • excellent knowledge of SAP, scanning and workflow technology
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • proven track record of people management and the ability to motivate team members
  • expierence in leading large accounting teams
  • ability to achieve excellence under pressure
