Together with our client - Olympus company,  worldwide leading manufacturer of optical and digital precision technology, who provides innovative solutions for state-of-the-art medical systems, digital cameras as well as scientific solutions we are looking for IT Manager Business Center (BC).

This role strives for operational excellence of all relevant IT-topics within the business center. He/she is local representative for the European IT-organization at the business in Wroclaw/Poland.

your tasks

  • hands-on support building-/ramping-up of the business center (Hard-/Software, Processes) 
  • help to clarify upcoming topics and issues concerning all kind of IT (Network, infrastructure, equipment, telecommunication) together with IT-Service provider (Tata Consulting Services – TCS) and the EMEA-IT-Organization
  • steer the IT-Service provider in providing direct and intensive on-site hardware-support for the end-user during cut-over and hypercare phases.
  • establish the way of working between the Business Center and EMEA-IT and TCS as the main IT service provider.
  • collect and manage of local IT-demand (change requests and hard-/software demands)
  • support the annual planning and budgeting process in case of IT-Projects for the BC.
  • select hard-/software demand from standard service catalogues and trigger the purchasing process. 
  • local orchestration of all provided IT-Services (from central IT-Organization as well as from the IT-Service Provider TCS)
  • daily management of specific local IT-Infrastructure providers 
  • ensuring the consideration of EMEA IT-standards, -processes and guidelines
  • using defined escalation procedures, e. g. in the case of urgent change request
  • coordinate local projects especially concerning requirements specification and test coordination 
  • regular communication to central IT organization
  • development of ideas to enable the improvement of business center operation by new/updated IT-functions and technologies
  • consult the delivery leads of the BC in terms of IT-driven business process improvement  
  • increase required knowledge of best practice / state of the art technologies. 
  • propose and coordinate local IT-based improvement projects

what we expect

  • MSc or BA in informatics, business informatics, industrial engineering
  • 4 - 7 years experience in a similar position if possible in a business service center organization
  • first experiences in coordinating an external IT-Service provider
  • experience in coordinating local IT improvement projects and managing operational on-site IT-Support for hardware
  • excellent command of fluent business English (oral and written skills)
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • first track records of IT management
  • customer oriented with a high level of hands-on mentality and pragmatism
  • openess to learn new technologies and IT-methods in the context of BC-Operation and improvement
  • excellent communication within the IT-support organization and to IT-HQ-Functions
  • experiences in IT-Operations, management of IT-Projects
  • good knowledge of IT, communication and infrastructure
  • experience in coordinating external suppliers and support services
  • extensive knowledge of MS Office
  • knowledge of IT-Service Management-Processes and –tools, e.g. ticketing

necessary condition:

  • knowledge of ERP-Systems (SAP ERP)
