The Quality & Engineering Function is responsible for assuring that customer requirements are understood and translated into robust processes which comply with legal and quality approval requirements.  This is achieved by working with all employees to increase the company’s efficiency, effectiveness and profitability by identifying and facilitating opportunities for improvement.

Technical engineer lead position is to be the primary technical engineering lead supporting a range of customers, ensuring accurate review of FAIRs DVIs, PPAP and Tech Vets by the co-ordination of task within the technical team, to be the single point of contact for priorities to ensure resource is available and a quick response can be achieved.

your tasks

  • to build effective working relationship with designated customers, to understand specific customer needs and expectations
  • improve RFT supplier submission of FAIRs, DVIs, and PPAPs
  • develop visual management to ensure load capacity within the team is fully understood and acted upon
  • define customer specific metrics and drive the team to achieve world class performance
  • participation in improvement activities at department / company level to enhance business performance
  • comply with all relevant internal rules, policies and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety, Data Protection and all those contained within the issued Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual
  • undertake other duties and tasks that may be allocated that are appropriate to the job

what we expect

  • HND / HNC or (NVQ 3 with relevant experience) in mechanical, manufacturing, process or materials engineering 
  • good knowledge of French or English language
  • trained (Level 1,2) in Dimensional Measurement, Geometrical tolerancing, Material /Process/Manufacturing specific topics (via NPL, AMRC, MTC or equivalent) 
  • knowledge and experience of AS9102 (First Article Inspection), DVI, PPAP 
  • people management experience 
  • good verbal and written communication skills 
  • ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • strong influencing and relationship building skills
