We are supporting a global client in the retail and consumer goods sector in their search for an experienced Data Science Manager. In this role, you will lead a skilled team of data scientists, helping to build and deploy advanced analytical models that support key areas of the business such as marketing, merchandising, supply chain, and e-commerce. You will play a vital role in shaping the consumer re-engagement strategy by applying machine learning, segmentation, and predictive analytics to real-world challenges.

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data science team, focusing on both individual development and collective success.
Define and execute the data science roadmap aligned with business goals.
Oversee full project lifecycle: from defining business problems to developing and deploying scalable machine learning models.
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, business units) to translate business needs into data science initiatives.
Conduct user segmentation, behavior analysis (e.g., open/click/subscribe rates), discount modeling, and consumer lifecycle analytics.
Balance technical hands-on work with strategic leadership (approx. 50/50 split).
Maintain high standards of model quality, performance, and interpretability.
Stay current with emerging technologies in ML/AI and identify innovative opportunities.
Promote a data-first mindset and encourage best practices in experimentation, model validation, and analytics infrastructure.
5+ years of experience in data science, including 2+ years in a team leadership or management role.
Strong background in Python or R, statistical modeling, and machine learning (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning).
Solid experience with A/B testing, experimental design, and causal inference techniques.
Proficient in SQL, cloud-based environments (ideally GCP), and distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in consumer segmentation, predictive analytics, and behavioral modeling.
Familiarity with modern tools and frameworks: GitHub, APIs, GraphQL, Kubernetes.
Industry experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods is a plus.
