- Architecture & Strategy: Define the MDM architecture (Hub, Registry, or Hybrid models) and lead the technical implementation of MDM platforms (e.g., Informatica, SAP MDG, or Profisee). Build a business processes house for SAP applications, host and maintain the processes in SAP Signavio.
- Data & Process Governance: Co-Develop and enforce data standards, policies, and business rules together with Data Domain Owners. Collaborate with Data Stewards to ensure compliance. Co-Develop the digital process house with E2E Process Owners, and establish rules for process design, change, and discontinuation.
- Data Modeling: Design and maintain complex data models for various domains, such as Customer, Product, Supplier, or Employee data. Drive hands on master data quality initiatives across the domains.
- Data Quality Management: Implement automated profiling, cleansing, and matching/merging rules to eliminate duplicates and ensure "Golden Records."
- Integration: Map data flows between the MDM hub and downstream/upstream systems (ERP, CRM, Data Warehouses) using ETL or API frameworks.
- Performance Monitoring: Create dashboards and KPIs to track data health, such as accuracy rates, completeness, and synchronization latency.
- Technical Proficiency: SQL, Python/Java, MDM Software (Informatica, Semarchy, Riversand), and ETL tools. BPMN tools, e.g. Visio, Signavio
- Data Knowledge: Deep understanding of Data Modeling (ERDs), Metadata Management, and Data Lineage.
- Process Knowledge: Deep understand of Business Process Modeling, and Process Hierarchies in the detail (on SAP best practice item level).
- Analytical Skills Ability to perform root-cause analysis on data anomalies and complex logic gaps.
- Soft Skills Stakeholder management, cross-functional communication, and strong promotion of data culture.
- Experience Typically, 5+ years in Data Engineering, Data Governance, or Master Data roles or proven managerial experience in complex, IT related projects.
