On behalf of our Client – an international corporation from the tobacco industry – we are looking for an independent specialist with knowledge of Romanian Payroll for the position of Payroll Delivery Specialist
your tasks
- provide agreed-upon support for payroll and time-related BAU activities
- support payroll reconciliation and review activities
- support payroll data preparation, validation and submission to payroll vendor
- assist in managing operational workload and ensuring continuity during critical payroll processing periods
- identify and address gaps, inconsistencies and operational risks impacting payroll delivery
- review current payroll and time management processes, practices and controls
- validate existing ways of working against Romanian labor, payroll and statutory requirements
- identify compliance risks, process inefficiencies and opportunities for standardization
- recommend practical improvements to strengthen process effectiveness and control environment
- develop and maintain payroll and time management Work Instructions
- support creation and enhancement of Business Continuity Plans
- document key processes, controls, responsibilities and dependencies
- contribute to establishment of sustainable and scalable operating procedures
- support stabilization of current operations in preparation for payroll vendor transition
- partner with Payroll Delivery Manager to define future-state payroll and time processes
- help define business and operational requirements for new payroll vendor engagement
- participate in payroll transformation and vendor change project activities
- support process mapping, requirement gathering, testing and transition readiness activities
- provide subject matter expertise to Payroll Delivery Manager and relevant stakeholders
- collaborate with payroll vendors, Time specialists, P&C, Finance and other functions
- support resolution of complex payroll and time-related issues
- provide recommendations based on payroll best practices and market experience
what we expect
- minimum 5 years of experience in Romania payroll and time management
- strong knowledge of Romanian payroll legislation and payroll operations
- experience working with outsourced payroll service providers
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- ability to quickly understand complex operating environments and drive improvements
- Romanian language knowledge (prefered)
- experience in payroll transformation, implementation or vendor transition projects (prefered)
- experience in process documentation and business continuity planning (prefered)
- experience in project-based assignments within multinational organizations (prefered)
