A world-leading consumer health company is hiring for the role of Data Steward to be part of our Enterprise Data Management team, which is responsible for driving the Governance and Data Quality.
The Senior Data Steward will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and governance of data across the organization. This position requires deep understanding of the business area, reporting capabilities, and proactive action to address data-related challenges. The Senior Data Steward will also manage escalation processes and may oversee market stewards, the Senior Data Steward helps resolve data quality issues, supporting reliable decision-making and regulatory compliance. Acting as a liaison between business and technical teams, the Data Steward ensures clear communication of data requirements, contributing to overall data strategy and operational excellence.
The role will require cross-functional interaction with leaders and teams across business functions and markets, partnering with a wide array of stakeholders to deliver Enterprise Data Management initiatives. Key responsibilities:
- Validate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of operational data within assigned data sets by working with the Business Process Owners/Value Stream Leads and/or technical Product Owners.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and Data Owners to establish, document, and enforce clear data definitions, business rules, standards, policies and procedures that are consistently applied within the Operating Unit. Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices.
- Become expert in specific market archetypes (especially indirect/distributor-driven)
- Understand end-to-end data flows in terms of data inputs, outputs for capabilities such Customer Planning in Visualfabriq, Trade Promotions & Net Revenue Management
- Validate data sources such as (SAP, Trade Promotion Management, sell-out, POS portals, NielsenIQ/IRI).
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and governance of master data throughout its lifecycle by reviewing, validating, correcting attributes, mappings, hierarchies. Primarily Product and Customer Master, and Pricing data.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure data quality requirements are clearly understood, communicated, and implemented effectively across systems and processes.
- Continuously monitor data quality, identifying and addressing issues proactively. Work closely with markets and Operating Units to rectify data and process issues. Root-cause and propose remediation actions.
- Manage forums to facilitate discussions, share insights, and address data-related challenges, ensuring active participation and engagement from relevant stakeholders.
- Build from data standards / rules the guidelines and playbooks to enable the business to accurately maintain data, and adopt new capabilities
Experience Required:
- Undergraduate Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with SAP ECC and master data management, Trade Promotion Management (TPM), Power BI, POS/sell-out systems, NielsenIQ/IRI.
- Proven ability to support and deliver complex projects in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of the CPG/FMCG industry, including an understanding of competitors' products, services, and customer needs.
- Knowledgeable of relevant data governance, standards and regulations, and their application.
- Experience working with cross-functional and remote teams to support project execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in data stewardship or a related field.
- Familiarity with using Informatica IDMC for data management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assist in root cause analysis and remediation measures.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to apply commercial thinking and a strong appetite to learn the business.
- Strong understanding of Customer Planning, Product Promotions and Sales processes.
- Good communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable plans, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis, with knowledge of SQL and Power BI (PBI) being advantageous.
